Turned To Rust
A reaction to salt water,
A consequence of tears,
So much contamination
That has built up through the years.
An imbalance of chemicals,
An eco-system shot,
The world like it was before,
It is surely not.
Resources have been running dry
Whole species have died out,
The planet is now fighting back,
Can we have any doubt.
The winds they come in roaring,
It rains and causes flood,
Temperatures now so extreme,
It’s nature’s form of blood.
Whether it’s been created
Or just happens naturally
The climate now is on the change;
How much, I guess we’ll see.
But all the tears we’re spilling,
Caused by so much misplaced trust,
Are speeding up the process,
Turning our whole world to rust.

The world will be fine, Hully, it's the humanity that has to worry :p
A good poem, and it shows how the world's being corrupted as if it's been poisoned. Rust was a great metaphor for it.
Aw...I thought this was going to be about Mars and how iron oxide makes it red.
Still nice, though.
Spot on, and excellent, Hully!
I love the entire, "we have created our own sadness, tears are making it worse", analogy.
Always amazed at your ability to put such incredible attention and detail into such diverse topics.
This is an amazing poem, Hully. It's also the ugly truth and we are guilty for looking away and not considering this priority.
Well done again.
