Turning Blue

Why did it have to be such a cold night? I mean, it could be worse; it could be pouring down with rain or even snowing. Right now, it’s hard to look on the bright side. I am frozen.

I shuffle from foot to foot, half convinced that my toes are going to be lost to frostbite. I can’t even scrunch them up, they are so cold. My hands are in gloves but even so I know that they are going to be either raw red, or perhaps purple tinted.

If only I could get out of the wind, but your doorway would be out of view if I did change my position, and that would never do, would it!

My lips are turning blue, I can feel they are. I’m becoming Frosty the Snowman out here! Come on. Can’t you get on and make a move? Just one snap, that’s all I need, and then I can go home, thaw out with brandy while laying in a hot bath.

Not for the first time I think that maybe I really am not cut out to be a Private Detective!
