Whale Slaughter.

Once again mankind, or at least a part of it, is showing its total disregard, it’s complete lack of respect to other species that share the planet with us.

Japan, yesterday, announced that it is to withdraw from the International Whaling Commission (IWC) on the last day of June 2019 and will resume commercial whale hunting from the 1stJuly.

It has promised to restrict the slaughter to its own waters and exclusive economic zone, and to abandon the more controversial Antarctic hunts. I’m sure the whales will appreciate the gesture.

The most common way to hunt and slaughter whales is with the use of exploding harpoons. These pierce their way through the skin and only once they have penetrated the mammaldo they explode. Humane slaughter? I don’t think so.

At present there are 6 species of whale on the Critically Endangered or Endangered lists, and yet a group of homo sapiens seem intent on making it that bit worse for the sake of their own cultural diet.
