(1st verse)

burnt omelets smoking in the frying pan.

20 minutes til I'm late.

She laughs at pins stuck in my hair.

I laugh at her funny face.

(2nd verse)

20 minutes, rush down the hall.

Drop her at preschool

I'm late after all.

I know the teacher understands but she yells anyway.

will it ever be easy?

living this way.

My little girl is my sunshine

Reality is my rain.

I'm a mother, but I'm not a wife.

I'm a little girl just trying to get by

In the new age Teenage Life.

(3rd verse)

Saw her daddy in the hallway.

He doesn't say hi

He's got his arm around another

I just dip my head and walk on by.

 (4th verse)

No point reliving all the memories

Every last I love you-u-u

It's an overplayed movie.

And I'm fresh out of tissue.

(repeat chorus)

(5th verse)

Last bell rings and I rush home

to hold the love of my life.

She's got gum in her hair

and paint on her face.

But to me she looks just right

And when I pick her up she smiles

and I thank god for every little strife.

It'll never be easy

but it's my life.

No it'll never be easy.

But she's my life.
