I see you out of the corner of my eye

And smile to myself as I start to cry

My heart still hurts no matter what I try

And my love stays strong as time goes by

-

My memories flood back almost every day

In a song, or a smell, never fading away

I prayed so hard that you would stay

You tried so hard but now with angels you play

-

Your time on earth was so cruelly cut short

I remember the fun and the lessens you taught

How to be a good man and not get caught

And to use my strength as a last resort

-

But my strength was tested the day you left

And I looked down at you full of tearful bereft

As he took you away with a hand so Deft

And now I morn every day your soulful theft

*

I Love you more each passing day

I love you in every possible way

I wish so much you were able to stay

But I understand you had to go away.

Love and miss you mum!
