I allow myself to drift away

In time, space to a place

In a not yet lived day

In this place I am nothing

I do not even exist

But I sense I am everything

I feel like I am no one

But my surroundings

Say I am everyone

My body floats as upon a tide

But there are no waves

For my body to reside

My eyes closed, subdue

But there are images playing

Dancing in and out of view

The darkness is safe and warm

Like a cashmere blanket

That is tattered and forlorn

Each breath rattles with distain

And yes, I know this place

By the burning acrid rain

The stench of a lives misgiving

Drives me back into myself

And awake again amongst the living

As I float, I leave the world behind

In my bath I hide from the world

As I float in the waters of my mind
