Dear KC,

I write to you from the east side of Germany. The weather has been fine but we are also in trouble economy. It has been one month since we was save from the Soviet Union. They are nothing but that took over our shops and now we are living all together trying to find out what freedom is like. I have tried to get my shop back up and running is failing.

My family is hungry and my wife is expecting our second child. Food is hard to come by but I am finding it hard just to feed myself and get money. I worry cause people is revolting and the whole village is in danger of getting killed. I just got word that grandmother was killed by riot in north east Brien as they torn down the wall of Berlin. My wife was happy to hear that but life is hard for Her and my son.

I have to write fast cause sunset is in a few minutes and I am worried for my son schooling. These new times have gave us a purpose to live but it is also a buduen to my family. This new found freedom has a heavy price to pay. I am use to having a guard at our shop to do all the sell your home is failing. I am planning on moving to US but I don’t know yet.

Yours Sincerely,

Robert Key
