A lot of things (not recent) inspired this piece. I guess I'll leave it open to interpretation instead of describing my reasoning behind it. Enjoy. ^-^

Acid pumps through my veins
I cannot call out to you
Captivated by the scene unfolding before my eyes
My lips are heavy; my breathing muted
Sickened by my ignorance- horrified by my knowlege

Heart beating ever faster- pumping
pumping
*skip*
I cannot breathe- I cannot faint
I'm stuck in this Hellish between
My eyes held open in paralysis

Held into place
Lungs aching with a forcefully contained scream
Take a shuddering breath
A raspy breath
To ease my fast-beating heart

No!  This can't be!  This can't be happening-
but it is
All in front of my very eyes
My stomach does twists- I feel sick
Yet, I don't hate you; I don't hate what you did
Even as I watch you walk away with another
Who isn't me

Heart beating ever faster- pumping
pumping
*skip*
I cannot breathe- I cannot faint
I'm stuck in this Hellish between
My eyes held open in paralysis

What am I waiting for?
There must be some reason-
Some explaination; you wouldn't do this to me
Just leave me to my denial
Where pleasant dreams and false illusions
make all the real problems seem like jokes

Just leave me to my denial
Where pleasant dreams and false illusions
put me in a world so surreal, so numbing-
In a world without a moon
