Stained orange-red, the sky swirls, your end draws near
The tightening in my chest becomes unbearable
Rain washes away my fear
Your fingers wipe away the sorrow, but not the ice in my heart
I can't breathe; I can't remember
Swimming in my every thought, your last smile
Your absence is my eternal December
Sleek and black, the vehicle pulls up to us
My hands go cold as you close the door, hazel-
the lasteyes I will remember, in them, your trust
Your words wipe away the sadness, but not my regret
I can't believe I let our friendship sever
Sitting on the swings at the abandoned park, I cry
Your absence couldn't be forever
Bright and sunny, the sky is at ease
Softly caressing my ankles, the grass sways to and fro
But my heart is not at peace
Your face wiped away the woe, but not my pain
I can't stop reminiscing- wait, I feel a thrill
Standing alone by our old favorite hangout
I still expect to see you walking casually over that hill
