She is Beauty

Twinkling eyes illuminated by the moonlight

Her touch is my touch, her sight I see

Our hearts beat in a synchronized rhythm

I see him mistreating her, mistreating me

And I want to cry out-

I want to end this blasphemy

the inferno in my heart silences me

And though tears fill my eyes

Through weakness, I lose my pride

As she loses her innocence

Trading love for lust, losing her time

So precious is this demon

So precious is this sin

A new kind of addiction, a new kind of affliction

To ease the scars in her heart,

only to make them surface again

My heart stops beating

I try to tell her

I try to make her see reason

but she won't

She has made her descision

My heart of lead, my heart of stone

pounding once more

Her life spirals away from her fragile fingertips

The grass is always greener on the other side

What a lie

Grr. I just wrote a poem called Forced Insouciance, now I'll have to change the name. Way to go! =^.^= But in all serious your poem deserves it more. I love the power and flow, it reads easily but leaves me thinking. Thanks for sharing. Oh, and chapter two is up on Blood Symphony if you'd care to give it a read.
