If I ever told you
what secrets lie untold
You would hate me for the years I stole
from your life, from your heart
Perhaps I could have been better from the start
But if I ever tried...
No I couldn't have lied
For me, for you, I died

When I touched your hand that last time
You didn't cringe away
But you couldn't think of anything to say
The silence I drowned in
Caused by my own self-rightous sin
And you mourned so much...
Even where I lay, I feel your touch
Now I speak these words as such

Now I'm stuck
these memories prompting emotions long-forgotten
I feel sick, my soul is vile, I am rotten
Much too morose
to feel your love so close
Like things were when we were together
Your heart starts to weather
Emotions now like leather

Why can't you feel me?
I'm kissing your cheek
Only your love do I seek
Why don't you hug me back?
I'm sorry for all that I lack
With all my heart of eternal black
