She cries and cries,

Shouts, why do this!?

Tries to get a rise,

With a scathing hiss.

Barbed words,

Forged from tongue,

Go unheard,

It's been too long.

I can understand,

Her world undone,

Not just by my hand,

Really, hers was the one.

I have a dark secret,

Yet bright as a star,

Though, I, as yet,

Must gaze from afar.

She shines everyday,

Cheeks rosy, lips so full,

She smiles in that way;

An inescapable pull.

Whenever we part,

The sky goes grey,

We make the snow start,

Even on a spring day.

How long will it snow?

Snow will always end.

We really don't know,

The time for pretend.

I want to hold her,

Whisper gently in her ear,

When this is all over,

I'll kiss away, every tear.
