In this book of the 'Hazardous' Series, what seems like a typical story of early teen abandonment and a new life start, actually turns out to be a Paranormal identification discovery, A love triangle, and an epic drama that will leave you wanting more and it all starts off with Scarlet (The leading character).

Scarlet has an almost normal life until the age of thirteen when her mother mysteriously abandons her in there lake house, leaving nothing but a note telling Scarlet that she doesn't understand what's happening now, but she will later. In this note there is also another locating of a hidden message that Scarlet never gets to.
Scarlet is soon placed in a foster home where she stays 'temararyly' for two years. After countless meetings with her case worker, Matty, about finding her mom, there is no progress. So finally Scarlet decides to give up and accept her situation, when suddenly her mom, Jones, shows up. But not to take Scarlet back, but to give her yet another letter. Only this time with the words I- no not those three words. Linnix High School.
Scarlet is adopted by the kinish family a year later and she give up on trying to figure out all the hidden messages her mother trys to send.
Back to a normal life again, Scarlet discovers, or so she thinks.
Weird things start happening when she's around. At first she brushes it off but then she figures out she's causing it. So Scarlet decides to stay away from everyone as much as she can, but then suddenly New kids arrive at her school and try to hang with her, but she pushes them away, afraid she might hurt them. But that's the thing - when she's around them nothing happens, and that one tiny detail soon leads to many hidden secrets and questions, but the most important is 'What are you?'
