I reach out to hold you
But I grasp at smoke.
Why do you recoil
When I have nothing
Save love for you?
Am I that repulsive,
Repugnant? Crude and vile?
Or rather, am I the rat
With which you play?
I see now, my puppeteer
My mistress, I see
The string which you yank.
I lowwered my guard-
I spoke full truthes!
I whispered secrets
Which should not be heard.
But it is acceptable, I guess
For I have seen your true form.
You play with dangerous things
In a game with dangerous people-
And I have passed your thoughts
To those who would destroy you.
Sleep well tonight,
Your dagger in returned in full.
