Ever felt like a friendship isnt all it seems to be? True friendship is as you will see.

They know their names
As a woman i have come to see
That people dont really mean that much to me
Friends who were never really friends
Where our friendship was a means to an end.
Where convinience was the foundation
A friendship of  empty notions
I meant nothing to them
Until they needed me
But when i needed them
Status was the winner you see
No matter how many years went by
Our friendship was always just a lie
Because as i stood there
Silently beside them
Someone was always prettier richer or better
And when there was no one for them
I opened my arms and let them in
Regardless of the hurt they caused
The neglect that they installed
I welcomed them like they had done no wrong
But as a woman ive come to learn
That history repeats itself
And i no longer yearn
Because when friendship is true
It will be just me and you
I wont be on the side lines
Silently cheering for you
But together we will get each other through.
And thats friendship
