“What?” asked Eric. He nearly dropped his wand. Lilly had just found the dead body of a woman. But on the other hand, Vanessa was really close to being burned alive. The fire was getting bigger and bigger by the second. Vanessa had the power of fire. She couldn’t get hurt by fire, unless she wasn’t controlling it.

“Put out the fire first!” shouted Logan.

Lilly pulled out her wand. “Extinguere!” she shouted. Water shot out of her wand and put out the fire. The warriors all rushed towards Vanessa.

“Are you okay?” asked Eric.

Vanessa didn’t answer.

Logan and Drake went over to Lilly. They saw a dead woman lying on the floor. But she looked more like she was a college girl. She was wearing regular clothes. She wasn’t bleeding from anywhere. But she had to marks on her neck.

“Are those fang marks?” asked Logan. He pointed at her neck.

“What the hell?” said Lilly.

“Don’t tell me there’s a vampire in town,” said Drake.

“Well, what else could’ve bitten her?” asked Lilly.

Drake sighed.

“Guys! Let’s get out of here! Before anyone sees us!” said Eric. He got out his wand. “Onerarium!” he said.

They were all at the lair.

“What happened?” asked Master Kurt. He rushed towards Vanessa, who was on the ground.

“We destroyed Lance!” cheered Logan.

“Good,” sighed Master Kurt. “I can make her better. Let’s get into my room.”

Logan and Drake carried Vanessa over to Master Kurt’s room. There was a bed in the middle of the room. There was at dresser at the corner. Drake and Logan knew they shouldn’t touch it. There was probably important stuff in there. They lied Vanessa on the bed.

Lilly, Eric, and Master Kurt walked in the room.

“Gather around Vanessa in a spread circle,” ordered Master Kurt.

Then, he got out a diamond. He threw up over Vanessa. It stopped above Vanessa. It was floating.

“Now, I want you all to say the healing spell on the count of three. Ready?” asked Master Kurt. They all raised their wands at the diamond. “One… two… three!”

“Vulnera!” they all said. The magic from their wands bounced off the diamond and hit Vanessa.

Then, she awoke.

“Do you think it was a vampire?” asked Vanessa.

“I don’t know,” said Lilly. Lilly and Vanessa were hanging out at the Teen’s Club. They were trying to get rid of all the worrying for at least a few hours.

“Well, if it is one, we’re going to have to take him down,” said Vanessa.

“Yeah. It would be just another opportunity for the Demonics to get stronger,” said Lilly. Lilly looked around the club. She felt like someone she knew was here. Then, she spotted someone.

Her new boyfriend.

“Oh my gosh!” jumped Lilly. She grabbed Vanessa’s arm and pointed at her boyfriend. Vanessa’s eyes widened.

“Him? How did I not notice him?” asked Vanessa.

“I don’t know. But I know that Nathan is the one,” said Lilly.

Nathan approached them.

“Hello,” said Nathan.

“Hey!” greeted Lilly.

“Hi,” said Vanessa, uneasily. She didn’t feel right with him so near. She felt as if he were evil.

“Hey, do you want to go an indoor pool on Saturday?” asked Lilly.

“Actually, water isn’t my thing,” said Nathan.

“Oh okay.”

“Um, Lilly can I talk to you?” asked Vanessa. She didn’t give Lilly a chance to answer. She just pulled her to the restroom.

“What?” asked Lilly.

“Something’s not right with your boyfriend!”

“What do you mean?”

“When he approached us, I felt uncomfortable. I felt like he was evil.”

“And, how do you get those feelings?”

“Um… I… don’t really… know,” said Vanessa. She had a secret about herself that she knew she wasn’t ready to tell any of the warriors about.

“Well, then you might just still be traumatized from your incident at Walmart,” said Lilly.

“Okay, I’ll just wait for you,” said Vanessa. She walked out of the bathroom.

Lilly got out her lip gloss from her pocket. She put some on while looking at herself deeply in the mirror. When she was putting some on. She noticed someone behind her. Someone in just a black suit.

She gasped.

It was a ninja.

She turned around. The ninja grabbed her by the arm. He, then, grabbed her by the shirt and slammed her against a stall door. Lilly fell to the floor. The ninja grabbed a ninja star and raised it.

Lilly screamed.

Vanessa heard her. She stormed into the bathroom to find the ninja standing over Lilly.

“Hey! Get off of her!” shouted Vanessa. She ran towards them and pushed the ninja off of Lilly. Vanessa grabbed him by the neck and slammed his face on the counters. Then, she kicked him against a stall door. She pulled out her wand. She pointed it at the ninja. But when she was about to strike him with a spell, he disappeared.

“That bastard got lucky,” said Vanessa. She helped Lilly get up. “Are you okay?” she asked.

“Yeah, I’m alright,” said Lilly. “We should probably leave.”

“Why?” asked Vanessa.

“I’m a little hurt, and I don’t want to lie to Nathan anymore.”

“Anymore?”

“I haven’t told him about the lair and us being warriors.”

“Thank god.”

“Yeah, let’s go.”

Lilly and Vanessa rushed out of the bathroom. Lilly approached Nathan when she grabbed her purse.

“Where are you going?” asked Nathan.

“I have to go. No time to explain,” said Lilly.

She didn’t give Nathan a chance to answer. She just rushed out the door. Vanessa and Lilly didn’t leave each other’s side. Then, they bumped into someone.

“Oh, sorry,” said Vanessa. But then, she looked surprised when she saw who it was.

It was her and Lilly’s best friend before they had become warriors, Candice.

“Oh my god! We haven’t seen you in so long!” exclaimed Lilly.

“Yeah, my dad actually decided to move for a year, but now we’re back!” responded Candice.

“So how have you been?” asked Lilly.

“Pretty good, if you count being voted Most Popular,” said Candice.

“Wow, you’ve changed,” said Vanessa.

“Definitely.”

“So, you going to our school?” asked Lilly.

“Yeah,” said Candice. “I’ll tell you all about my junior year at lunch tomorrow.”

“Cool,” said Lilly and Vanessa together. Lilly was excited to hear about Candice. But then, she looked at the top of a building to see a person standing there.

Nathan.

She gasped.

“What?” asked Vanessa.

“I just…” when Lilly looked back up he wasn’t there anymore. “Never mind.”

The girls started walking. Vanessa started looking around because she felt weird. Then, she saw someone in all black clothes. The person was wearing a white mask. He seemed to be looking at the girls.

“What the hell?” she whispered. Then, the person just seemed to disappear. Vanessa decided to ignore it.

******************************************************************************

“We’re going to head to lunch,” said Lilly. She and Vanessa were going to catch up with Candice.

“Why are you in such a hurry?” asked Master Kurt. “You normally like being last to lunch. And you go as a group.”

“We know, but we need to talk to someone,” said Vanessa. Then, she and Lilly walked out of the lair at the back entrance. The warriors always entered the lair from the connected classroom. The old art room was always empty, so Master Kurt had decided to make that the other entrance.

Lilly and Vanessa had to wait in line for a little. They were always up front by the time they normally got there. When they were starting to look for Candice, Lilly noticed that she was sitting at their normal table. She and Vanessa went over and sat down across from her.

“So, what’s up?’ asked Vanessa.

“Okay, so when I first started going to the other school, I thought I was going to be a loser, but then, I started dating a guy on the football team. Then, everyone knew me in less than two days. I tried out for the cheerleading squad and I became more popular than I thought I’d ever be,” said Candice.

“Wow, talk about living life to its fullest,” said Lilly.

“Then, all the girls were asking me for advice. They eventually started calling me Conscience. And then, I was named Chick of the Year at the school. And I was also Queen at every dance. But then, I moved back here,” said Candice.

“I know you’re going to be super-popular,” said Vanessa. Then, they all heard a burst of laughter from another table. Candice noticed a girl with blonde hair.

“Who’s that?” asked Candice.

“Carol.” The guys sat down at the table. Drake noticed Candice right away. “Who are you?” he asked.

“She’s Candice. She just moved back here,” said Vanessa.

“That’s Carol, the It-Bitch of the school,” said Drake. The whole table started laughing.

“She always wins Queen at every dance and wins every student election,” said Eric.

“Yeah, it pisses me off. I think she even slept with the Social Studies teacher just so she’d win Student Body President,” said Logan.

“She does look like a slut,” said Candice.

“Yup,” said Eric. The table was pretty much silent the entire time. When the bell rang the warriors rushed to the lair. But Vanessa went to the bathroom. She washed her hands when she was done. When she looked in the mirror, she saw a person she didn’t expect to see.

Nathan.

She gasped.

“What are you doing here?” she demanded him. She felt weird when Nathan was around. She knew he was evil.

“I’m her for you,” said Nathan.

“What the hell are you saying?” asked Vanessa.

“I want your soul.”

“I knew it. You’re evil.”

“Yeah, um, the Demonics want at least one warrior’s soul. And you already know what I need to do, so your soul will go first.”

“I don’t think so,” said Vanessa. She slapped him across the cheek. “Wait until Lilly finds out.”

“SHE WON’T” shouted Nathan. “Or she dies.”

Vanessa froze. She wanted to save Lilly. But if she told her the truth, she’d be doing the opposite.

“What are you?” asked Vanessa. “You can’t be a mortal if you can collect souls.”

“Isn’t it obvious?” asked Nathan. Then, he hissed with fangs.

Vanessa gasped.

“Vampire,” she whispered.

“Now, let’s do this,” he said. But then, they heard the door open. Lilly turned to it to see Vanessa walk in. Then, when she turned back to see Nathan, he wasn’t there.

“Hey, Vanessa.”

“Hey,” said Vanessa.

“What’s up with you? You like you’ve been attacked by a vampire,” said Lilly. Vanessa forced out a laugh. Then, she just walked out.

She walked down the halls. When she was starting to calm down, she looked in the art classroom. Nathan was in there. He winked at her. She blinked then, he was gone. She walked into the classroom. No one was in there. Vanessa, then, just decided to head into the lair.

******************************************************************************

“Are you okay?” asked Logan.

“Yeah,” lied Vanessa. It’d been a day since Nathan almost tried to kill her. But she knew that she couldn’t let him kill Lilly. Vanessa looked over at Lilly who sitting on the couch. She looked really happy.

“What are you so happy about?” asked Lilly.

“Nathan is making his house a haunted house for Halloween,” said Lilly.

“Tomorrow?” asked Vanessa.

“Yup. Five bucks a kid. And he’s going to be playing a vampire,” said Lilly. “It’s so sweet. It’s not even Halloween for another three weeks.”

Vanessa’s jaw dropped.

“So are you going?” asked Vanessa.

“Duh!” said Lilly.

Vanessa knew she had to stop Nathan. He was going to eat anyone who paid to go into the house. And Lilly could be one of them. Vanessa knew that Lilly knew where he lived.

“So, all of us are going. I definitely want to see that haunted house,” said Lilly.

“What time?” asked Vanessa.

“Nine o’clock.”

“Okay, I’ll be there,” said Vanessa.

“Good, because all the guys already agreed.”

******************************************************************************

Vanessa walked up to Nathan’s house. Some kids were approaching. Vanessa was armed, she had ring and her wand. She her phone on speaker and dialed Lilly.

“Hey, Vanessa, where are you?” asked Lilly.

Vanessa didn’t pay attention. She just ran up to the kids.

“NO! don’t go in there! A vampire’s going to eat you!” said Vanessa. All the kids ran away.

“Vanessa! What are you doing?” asked Lilly. Vanessa kicked the door open.

She stepped into the house. It looked all burnt inside. It did look haunted. There were no actual haunting booby traps. Nathan must’ve been really hungry.

“WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO THAT FOR?” demanded Nathan. He had appeared out of nowhere. Vampires had super-speed, so that would explain that.

“I’m not going to let you eat Lilly,” said Vanessa.

“That’s what a vampire’s supposed to do!” said Nathan. “And, helping the Demonics helps me.”

Lilly couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Her boyfriend was a vampire. That would explain why she had seen him watching her on the top of a building. She had decided to ignore it, but now she knew she shouldn’t have.

“It doesn’t help you! They promise you glory! But you’re just making people suffer. And then, you end paying the price. We destroy you!” said Vanessa.

“That’s not how it’s going to end this time,” said Nathan. He stepped closer to Vanessa.

“Are you sure about that?” asked Vanessa. She spat on Nathan’s face. Then, it caught on fire. That was what Vanessa’s spit did. She decided to run up the stairs.

The fire didn’t last long on his face. But it healed right away.

Vanessa ran up the stairs. She just went in any direction. She went to her left. She entered the last room down the hallway. She entered that room and looked for anyway to escape.

“It’s not use!” said Nathan. “No one ever makes it out alive.”

“That’s only because you have an advantage.”

“Yeah, and it never fails.” Nathan grabbed Vanessa by the jacket. “I will bite you. And the more you struggle, the more it’ll hurt!” Vanessa tried to break free. Nathan slammed her against the wall.

She fell to the ground.

Lilly gasped, quietly.

“We have to go help her!” she whispered. Without any argument, they all followed her to Nathan’s house.

“You’re not special! You won’t make it out alive!” said Nathan. Vanessa got up. When she did, she slapped him.

“You should not have done that!” said Nathan. Then, he slapped Vanessa, knocking her down.

Lilly and the warriors were a few feet from the house. They ran as fast as they could. They noticed the door was opened. They rushed in.

“Vanessa!” shouted Lilly.

Nathan slammed Vanessa against the big window in the room.

She screamed.

The warriors heard it and dashed up the stairs.

“Vanessa!” they all shouted.

They all rushed towards the room where she was in. Lilly was the first to enter.

“What the hell are you doing?” she asked. She didn’t care for an answer. She just got out her wand from her boot and struck Nathan with a spell. “Sonum aquarum!” she shouted. The water blast from her wand hit Nathan, knocking him against the window. But it also made him shatter the window and go down with it.

“Good choice, Lilly. Vampires hate water,” said Logan.

“Vanessa, are you okay?” asked Lilly as she kneeled next to her.

“Yeah, but we can’t let him get away!” said Vanessa.

“You’re right!” said Lilly. The warriors rushed down the stairs. They went out the back door. When they exited the house, Nathan was no where to be found.

“Did he get away?” asked Vanessa.

“No.” Nathan appeared out of nowhere and grabbed Vanessa.

She screamed.

“Nathan, let her go!” said Lilly.

“No. I have a job to do,” said Nathan.

“You don’t have to do this.”

“I know I don’t have to do this… alone.”

“What?”

“Come on. I know you thought that I was the one for you. And I can be. Only if you become a vampire and join me!”

“I can’t! I won’t!”

“Well, that’s just too bad!” said Nathan. He hissed with his fangs.

“NO!” everyone shouted.

Lilly got out her wand. “Sonum aquarum!” she shouted. The blast from her wand was going to hit Nathan. But he pushed Vanessa in front of him.

She shrieked when it hit her. She wasn’t supposed to be hit with water.

“I’m too fast for any of you,” said Nathan. “Now, which one of you will go first?”

“You,” said Lilly. She smacked Nathan. Then she punched him. He tried to smack her, but she ducked. Then, grabbed his leg and made him trip.

He got up before she could do anything. He kicked her in the stomach. Then, he slapped her. And to finish her off, he spread his wings and super-sped her way.

“Hey!” said all the guys. They all rushed towards Nathan. He flew up into the air. They all stopped themselves before they smashed into each other.

“All of you are pathetic!” said Nathan.

“Procidamus!” shouted Eric. The magic from his hand shot Nathan straight in the face. They all got out their wands as soon he landed on the ground.

“You’re done,” said Logan.

“Are you sure about that?” said Nathan. Black magic started floating around his hand. He pointed it at Logan. He went flying backwards when it hit him. Then, he hit both Eric and Drake with the magic.

“You are ALL pathetic!” said Nathan. “You will never defeat me!”

Then, they all saw a winged girl flying towards Nathan. The girl tackled Nathan against a tree. When the girl stood on the ground, her wings disappeared.

“You didn’t think I was going to let you turn me into a vampire without me saying anything, did you?” she asked.

“You should’ve just stayed away, Tara.”

“Tara Burkhart?” asked Drake.

“What?” she said.

“I think you just found a way for people to forget about the slut thing,” said Drake.

Tara decided to ignore him.

“You are not going to get away with anything,” said Tara.

“Well, I won’t, as long as you’re here,” said Nathan. He kicked Tara in the stomach and slammed her against the tree. She had a knife in her hand.

He took it from her.

“Time to finish you off, bitch.”

“Drop it!” Lilly had her wand pointed at Nathan. He dropped the knife. “You aren’t getting away with anything.”

“See, that’s why I kill. I can never do anything fun,” said Nathan.

“Well, that’s only when you’re good.” said Lilly. “Sonum aquarum!” The water hit Nathan on the face.

He screamed in agony.

Tara grabbed the dagger and stabbed Nathan through the heart. He started glowing. He screamed until he disintegrated.

Lilly kneeled next to Vanessa.

“You okay?” she asked.

“Yeah, what about you?”

“I’m fine.”

Vanessa stood up.

“You’re lucky I was here,” said Tara.

“Yeah.”

“Hey, um, why did you help?” asked Drake.

“I needed to stop him. When he bit me, my soul stayed in my body and I became a vampire,” said Tara. “And, I want to become part of your group.”

“What?”

“I want to be a Superhuman.”

“We… can talk… to Master Kurt… about it,” said Eric.

Tara smiled. Then, she looked over at the house.

“What is it?” asked Eric.

“Someone’s in the house!”
