When I was a little younger I went on the road with my dad in his truck so this is about that.

Long Road Home

18 wheels roll on down the road

Rain slams into the windscreen

Whipers knock it left and right

I stare at my daddy's three days growth on his face

As we race from place to place

He smiles as he drops a gear

I know he can't wait to have a beer

I stare at the soaked road

As the center lines fly by

I close my eyes but still I stay awake

Get home to my bed, I can't wait

I final dose off

Don't seem long before I wake

Instead of nothing

I see lightpost after lightpost

The truck stops in front of a house

The place I was born

I knew that inside it was nice and warm.
