Sharpened swords and shining armor, white horse with brushed mane

Fearless eyes and patient hands--all in vain . . . all in vain

Neon, black lights, smoke, and a wallet full of two's

Speakers that pulse hip-hop and a heart that plays the blues

Black hole among obligated stars

Perfect, lonely night

Seeking dragons and evil kings in such profane sight

Waiting, watching, waiting, tense, and waiting for the hour

Every credit-card princess content within her tower

Oh, to be born, alive, born in such a time as this!

With much to drink and vomit to wake covered in one's piss

Much smiling and talking, music--music making sound . . .

"Why you're interested in that?! Cool. Why how profound!"

Ooh, I want that and to himself every man a slave

And every valiant knight without a girl to save . . .
