Like many of us I felt like I blended in when I was younger. I felt that I was not typical and did not completely understand at that age how lucky I was to not be typical. Typical is boring. And thus this poem was born.

You wander through the garden,

smelling with your nose.

You aimlessly inspect each and every rose.

Though lovely on the outside,

the inner glow will perish.

Keep searching for a flower to eternally cherish.

Like most flora the rose's hue will fade.

But there is one flower, you will see, whose color will stay.

You laugh to yourself, as you stare and smile at it.

Hidden among the roses, a bright and happy violet.

Though its beauty hides deeper,

it obviously shows,

that when you look a little closer,

tis far more lovely than a rose.
