Every punch you threw my way

Everytime I remember you'd say

'If you leave me I'll jump off a bridge and die'

So I stayed while you took away my life

I was beaten and bruised, black and blue

While you made me believe I owed something to you

Your cruel words cut just as deep as your fist

And I longed for so long for a way out of this

I cringe when I think of things you'd do

That I just wasn't ready for, I told you

I still scream when I'm hugged 'cos they'll never learn

That the memories of you still scar, still burn
