The flames leapt before my eyes,

Before my better judgement.

If only had been smarter with placing myself,

if only I knew she would tourment.

I could not escape her wicked hold,

I could not escape my doting trans.

She told me that she would never hurt me,

she told me she didn't stand a chance.

And now here I am;

my glow dimming and my heart sick.

And here I am now, telling the story

Of a candle who loved the wrong wick.
