I go ten miles just to see him

Even if he can be a pain in my ass

He always makes me smile and grin

He is silent and makes no noise

But I know exactly what he says

By his face and body position

Tells me all I need to know.

When he walks his head sways

He has four legs and is an animal

His name is Midnight

And it fits with his fur color

He is one of my best friends

And I am his

He is my freedom

He is my horse.

A/N: This is for countrygirl12305’s contest, You are Amazing. She said to say why this was important to me. Well it’s about my first horse. I still have him and he was 28 when I got him and he is 38-40 now. He is the best horse ever, even if he is a pain sometimes. He brightens my day when I have had a sour day.
