Dang, I’ve been gone for a long time. Sorry about that, guys! Anyway. I’ve had this idea in my head for a long time and I just couldn’t seem to get it out.
What the contest will be about:
If you couldn’t tell by the name, you will be re-telling a fairytale. You can make it modern, put a twist on it, introduce some new characters, do whatever you want to do. You can even change most of the plot-line and just keep the names of the characters and the basic ideas. If you would like to enter, post a comment IN THE COMMENT BOX OF THIS STORY SAYING “I would like to enter” or something along those lines. Then I will assign you a fairytale. If you do not like it or do not think you can write about it, you can request another one. And if you want to, you can leave a request for the fairytale you want to do. If it’s not already taken, I’ll gladly give it to you. If you want to leave several requests just in case more than one of your favorite fairytales are already taken, simply leave them in the order of which one you would like to do the most. (For example, if your first choice is Cinderella, you would put #1-Cinderella, etc.) Note that each contestant can only submit one entry.
You can make your story either a short story or a novel. If it is a novel, then please post the link to each chapter in the comment box of this story. If you are writing a short story, then post the link to it in the comment box of this story when you are done with it. And I would also like you to inform me in the comment box of this story if you are dropping out. It’s just much easier to keep track of everybody if everything is in one place.
(I’m also looking for a co-judge. Comment in the comment box if you are interested)
Couple of things you should know: I have ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM WITH CURSING! I curse like a sailor, so I’m not going to be a hypocrite and say that you can’t. As an aspiring journalist, I find it EXTREMELY frustrating when people don’t let you express yourself in the way you want to. The only thing I really do have a problem with is detailed erotica. Sorry. But I’m only sixteen.
Now since I know that final exams are coming up and everybody’s in that hellish stage where they’re studying like crazy people, this contest is going to last a LONG TIME! The deadline will be Monday, July 1st! I will start taking points off of your score if it is turned in after 12:00 AM on Tuesday, July 2nd, and I will have to disqualify you if it is not turned in by Monday, July 8th. Results will be posted by Saturday, July 27th (it will probably be way before then, though).
Since you children are greedy, I shall give you prizes.
First place: A fan from me, a promotion on my profile, a chance to be my co-judge if I ever do another contest, and two interviews: one for your fairytale and one for another one of your works
Second place: A fan from me, a promotion on my profile, and an interview (for either your fairytale or one of your works. You decide)
Third place: A fan from me and an interview (for either your fairytale or one of your works. You decide)
Have fun, fairytale lovers! Don’t forget that the deadline is July 1st, 2013, and again, I am looking for a co-judge.
