Coal in my eyes as the dusty wind blows

I say my prayer before my eyes close

The oncoming traffic, I hope misses me

They I hope, know that I can't really see

I run across the flat that's a road

cos, across it they say is heavenly abode

where food is aplenty in a large bin

and I would find my next of kin

with tiny ears and nose, I am a small puppy

Scraggy coat, tiny legs and all a little fluffy

I scamper across, at speed that I best can

narrowly missing the speeding blue van

Papa and Mama are already at food fest

foraged since morn, they have with the rest

The factory workers they say were kind

as they show me their edible find...
