And when you've gone
What now?
Whose laugh will I hear
As ripples of flesh
Role down and up again
In mirthful
Jolliness?
Whose baleful eyes will hold mine
While tales of woe are told?
And whose baby girl will I behold
In wonder
And smile at the baleful likeness?

Not yours
For both are gone

And the hole left behind
Is fathomless.
