Forgiveness,

Just one word,

A word with an underestimated meaning.

The power of forgiveness is held in every person’s heart,

Sitting there,

Waiting.

Waiting for that day when it can fly out,

And make a difference,

Maybe change the world.

Why, yes change the world.

It is forgiveness and forgiveness alone,

It is giving up the pain in a memory and moving on,

That can end injustice.

No more wars, suffering and pain,

No more hurt, un-right death and unfair gain.

If we could forgive,

If every single person,

Could forgive the pain forced upon them,

The suffering that was out of their control,

Then where would we be?

Forgiveness,

One of the hardest goals,

The thing that takes the most strength and power.

It is rigid,

Sometimes it feels impossible

But when it is sincere,

And when it is fully from the heart,

It makes a difference.

It changes lives,

It changes perspective.

Yes, when one forgives another,

It is a precious moment of truth, love and empathy,

A time when one realizes the light in the world,

And moves  one step closer on a path toward tranquility and peace.
