I try so hard to force my thoughts into words.

This routine smacks me hard in the head,

Always fleeing as nothing ever comes close.

My denial becoming the enemy again and again.

Why can’t something go right?

I try to describe, but there’s still nothing.

Memories attempting to divulge from me.

Words starting to empty from my mouth.

Brain cells burnt to crisp.

Justice has lost its place.

A feudal system making its rounds.

Prisoners setting themselves free.

I am a butterfly waiting to be reborn.

My smile throwing myself off course.

A gentle hand pressed to my ear.

Blow the smoke in my face again.

Rip my clothes away from me.

Toss the bottles behind me.

The symbols were ever so clear,

But you cheated and asked for the code.

You left my face with a tear.

But this is my turn to be the fool.

I used to be patient until I found nothing else to wait for.

The choices summarizing my fear.
