I think I am crashing,

attempting to grasp onto

anything but reality. Your

rules are limited to nothing,

as masturbation becomes our

newest immoral relief, from

this society raised on romance

novels and caffeine treats.

Your feelings of nothing, left

to sacrifice a peace we’ll never

recognize, but suffer in dreams of

childhood roles of broken hearts

and molded parts. You’ll be my

Romeo, and I your damned Juliet.

Instead we’ve altered the scene with

a twisted transition of Jekyll and Hyde.

The blood is bleeding through

every piece of clothing, leaving

drops of crimson surrounding our

mouths, with each set of lips leading

to a question of if. Fragments of what

used to be still shatter, falling quickly to-

wards the floor. My heart gorged out

completely, leaving me with only a whimper.

One more kiss and it’ll all be over.

They never would have listened, no

matter how much I strived for a silent

note of desperation. My lungs are being

crushed under me and all I feel is everything.

Acts of insecurity are held in ownership of

the tattered mind, withdrawn from life

with sorrow and a tempered goodbye.
