I’ve fought for this.

Struggled and mutilated,

Just to feel something,

Anything.

And all I hear

Is how wrong I’ve been.

Continuing to back hand me.

I’ve swallowed my tongue,

Allowing myself to indulge,

In this play of irresponsibility.

I am tired of being the disaster,

Instead let me be the miracle.

Hold me now,

So I won’t scream.

Hide me,

From this terrible exhaustion

I’ve built.

What’s happened to saviors,

Saints,

And heroes?

Have we scared them all away?

My dreams were like a rag doll,

Now torn and shredded.

Can I get a replacement?

Today I want to be the girl who lights the match,

Instead of the burning building,

Killing everyone,

Rejoicing with flame.
