A promise to the Peacely Prince who once had ruled the Fool.

Give me?
A walking stick

And I will search the
?Desert?
For you.

Give me?
A compass to follow and I

Will wend the drifts until I find
You.?

Give me
A camel and food

And I will walk
For miles
In
Your pursuit.

Give me
?A companion, too,

And I will search the maps
Of he who preceeded me
Until I find you--

Or

die.

Oh I see now! This nicely compliments "I Gave You a Walking Stick, My Fool". I can see now what motivated the protagonist on his long, yet fruitless journey. Nice work!

Yup :) it's not quite fruitless, since it actually hasn't begun yet (the Fool still needs to hold up his end of the bargain), but I'll make sure to write the end result ;)

so, looking at it one way, i might assume you haven't found him yet, but then i look again and you're asking him to do more. i hope he's worth it. hey, you'll just have to see what the big lug does, i guess (smirk!)

He's actually the one waiting for me :) well, he was. Now we're just figuring things out, working through stuff, getting the relationship going.
