The whole road/path thing reminds me of "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost. This only vaguely resembles it, but it still brings me back to that, because it's rad.

Also: at the end there i mention the 'abyss,' and i don't mean it's great to be stuck in a dark place, but things can be happy besides it. Just felt the need to clear up that unasked question. Ha ha.

I’ve been down this road before

Seen this map

Printed onto the forest floor

Push aside the brush

Studying what’s ahead

I’m finished with the rush

I only feel it in my head

Coursing along in this blood

I’m done dealing wit the dead

And struggling with the flood

I can rise above

When the mountain calls

I’m a kaleidoscopic dove

I will withstand the falls

Just jump off this path

Wander into the myth

It’s not always up to math

Sometimes it’s good in the abyss
