We are always taught that standing our ground and fighting for what we believe in, no matter how tough the currents that crash upon us are, is what life is all about. But some times going with the flow isn’t as foolish as once perceived. As long as the flow moves forward. Please comment.

As the river of death
Crashes against my fallen body
As I hear the crie of forgotten souls
As all my hope is drowned
And all I believe is revealed to me as lies
I stand my ground
As all those I trust
Turn their backs and walk away
As all those I love
Are lost to the light of day
I stand my ground
As my life slowly wastes away
And all my grace is cast aside
As all this sh*t comes crashing down
I stand my ground
Yet as I see you begin to sink
I stand my ground
I cannot move to help you
Or else we both my be swept away
As I stand here fighting the currents
As I steady myself
And as I stand my ground
I feel myself begin to drown
All my fears are still here
All my loathe and pain
Everything I ever wanted was swept away
Yet I am still here?
As I stand here in the light of day
I finally let go
And let myself be swept away
As long as I’m moving forward.
