I kneel down
In this dissident chapel
And bow my head in silence
I just kneel there
Not sure what to say
Not sure who to say it to
But it feels good
To just kneel there in silence
Not a word
Not a sound
Not a thought
I feel lifted
My mind seems to clear
Seems to settle
I feel free
And sure
My heartache ended
I open my eyes
Seeing things in a new light
I step outside
The soft moon
Brighter then it had ever been
The air
The silence
The trees...
Still dead...
But they’re not that important anyway
I take a step
My bear feet meeting the soft soil
A white raven lands on my shoulder
And for the first time in my life
I feel free...
...Truly free...
