She gazes
Deep within his eyes
She sees
The thoughts and lies
The blackened void
That is his soul
And she knows
Though he goes
And comes back unscathed
A part of him dies
Every day
He cries
Deep within that soul
Unknown
And unknowing
The true terror of death
Though he sees with his eyes
He tries his best
To part with these lies
Unsuccessful
Of course
‘cause he sees the truth
And cannot dispute
Reflecting is will
This souls fights between
Never agreeing
A constant fray
He cannot stay
She sees this shattered boy
Watching the stars in his eyes
As she cries
For this shattered soul
And she knows that he dies
With every death
And cries
With every tear
And she bears
Witness to this
And tries
So very hard
To drive
Away the chords of chaos
And weeps
As his soul is bent
And his sanity spent
A life in torture
And she wraps her arms
Helplessly
Driving in the thorns
And takes away
All his grief
Leaving him with only pain
And nothing to gain
And she sheds her tears
For his shattered soul.
