Shattered light
Reflects the truth
As age is wrought
With dwindled youth
Beauty comes
As beauty goes
Reflected forth
From withered souls
Decaying minds
Grow slow and obtuse
Intellect lost
With density profuse
The plague of age
Spreads fast and swift
As our being is lost
And we begin to drift
Lives are discarded
Wasted and lost
As death is awaiting
With a life as its cost
As you stand on the edge
Looking down at the light
Piercing your soul
So revealing and bright
You’ll think too yourself
With thoughts so concise
If it was worth the struggle
Is it worth the price?
