Severed spine
Of my mind
This pain so sublime
Like the sweet bliss of death
Stealing my breath
As I slept
By the light of the moon
She’ll be leaving me soon
Pushed away by the sun
This unmitigated pain so kind
Washing away my feelings
This numbness stealing
From me
My freedom
And replacing it
With this fallacious sh*t
And I accept it
Letting it destroy my mind
Yet it must be kind
To take this unwanted passion
In such a sublime fashion
My demons laughing
And attacking
My free will
I lie still
Relieved of obligation
This deadly vacation
From reality
And I scream
Tearing it away
Such sweet things it would say
But nay
I shan’t accept this lie
I would sooner die
Then submit to thee
Now I see
Through the light of the moon
These dead bodies strewn
Across your barren fields
All the lives you’ve taken
Promising them freedom
Freedom from this pain
Driving them insane
But I’ve seen this side of myself before
And I chose to ignore
With the help of my poet
What you show me I shan’t accept
But reject
And spit in your face
Such disgrace
But for now I am content
To your whim I have not bent
You’re not welcome in my mind
But perhaps another time.
