A summary? This poem is about suicidals and seekers of the end, both of which I understand to an unfortunate extent. It is also about the personal choice I made that saved my life. But as all my poems, it is open to interpretation, and I urge you to find something within it that relates to yourself.

Of self induced sacrifice
Concerning the volunteered dead
I can only express my disappointment
And discontent
I understand the feeling
The unmitigated inexorability of it all
The selfless feeling of giving it all
The selfish feeling of giving it all
To give and not receive
The sheer avaricious state of mind
That you rid yourself of
To seekers of the end
Concerning the volunteered dead
I can only express my confusion
And content
I understand the feeling
The seemingly lost sense of self
The lost fears and pain
The lost hope and joy
To feel this pain
The sheer uncontrollable state of mind
That you rid yourself of
Of self induced sacrifice
To seekers of the end
I can only say that I know
But there is a difference between us
You chose the knife, the pill, the noose
I chose the pen, the life, the love
I can only say that I do not know what to say.
