As I look upon the world I see
What is and what
Can be
I do not see what I desire
I see the life and
The fire
I do not envision within my mind
What once existed in
Time
As I look upon the world I see
The beauty of what
Can be
I do not see what I desire
But what was lost within
The fire
I do not envision with my mind
What no longer is within this
Time
When I look upon the world I see
The wilted flowers and the
Beauty
I do not see what I desire
For what I want is
The fire
I do not envision within my mind
A world free of pain and
Crime
I see the beauty of what exists
And the passion that’s entwined within
I do not remember the blooming rose
But see the purity of withered sin
As I look within its withered petals
I see the truth that never
Settles
I do not see what I desire
But the wilt of roses
Lost to fire
I do not envision in my mind
What was, but rather what comes
With time
