To know is not to understand
But to lack the doubt
That plagues all man
To see is not to observe
But be free from all
That is man’s curse
To feel is not a sensation
But a passage from
All man’s accusation
To understand such things it seems
To be the sole need
But to know and see and feel these things
And yet be excluded
From this enlightenment
Must surely be torture
And death an escape it would seem
To those who know and feel and see
But things are not they way they seem
When reality is merely a dream
But without an understanding of these
Than it would seem a perfect excuse
To see and feel and know such things
Without understanding then what’s the use
If only we knew.
