He observes quietly, un-interrupting. The world shifts quickly around him, towns built and destroyed, creatures born and killed. He doesn’t move, doesn’t try to stop the damage as it occurs, he merely watches, mutely awaiting change. Where broken towns had once been, green now seeps in, uninhabited woods appearing across aged streets. Craters where bombs had hit, walls pierced with bullet holes. The warfare had come and gone, leaving its mark on everything it crossed, but he stays untouched. Flourishing nature comes in splotches, hesitant buds appearing throughout broken down territories. He regards the open space, empty without its inhabitants. The loss of species wasn’t new to him, organisms have come and gone, with him watching all the while. Change doesn’t faze him, he’s seen enough to get used to the idea. This wasn’t the first time he had seen the world barren, and this wouldn’t be the last. He gazes at the trees, forests returning to where they used to be. The dead spaces quickly blossom with flowers, old construction completely forgotten. The planet fills back in, covering old remnants. And soon enough, it’s like they weren’t even there.
