Rekindled Affair

We see each other across the room.

I try not to make eye contact,

A polite smile is all I give,

A nod is all I receive.

We were hurt by the break up,

But we both knew my passion died,

And so you left me for another.

I see you with her now,

She sparks with admiration.

Talking to your old lovers,

She longs to understand you.

She knows more of you,

Then I do.

But then I never did care,

For your other faces.

And when we are forced together,

Once more,

The flames burn white hot.

I am glad to have you,

For now I can speak again.
