Inspired by a friend suffering with the pain of unrequited love.

I have been left here suddenly to realize
That all you gave me was an illusion
That I have lived

And if it's just me
And it's just you
What's the point of this decision?
Or the sum of all my inhibition?

And gently I settle down
To travel the road less taken
For risks are ignorable
When you've nothing to lose

And if it's just truth
And it's just trust
Why does it cut so deep?
Have I not earned the right to sleep?

You left me with the question of
Was it pain, or was it love?
