Are you ready to walk this mile with me?
To catch me if I should stumble backwards
And endure the pain that rains forever
To possibly see no end?

Will you hold true to your word
Keep my secrets safe and warm?
If I entrust you with my sorrow
Will you guard it and accept it?

Even if my voice fails to whisper
Will you still be there to listen?
If I promise to take care of my wounds
Will you take care of taking care of me?

If I cry out in confusion
Will you hold a light to follow?
Can I be promised safety
From my self-born mass hysteria?

I fear you like a stranger
I love you like no other
Though you are not the cure
You are the way
