You knew it was your end
Everyday was death for you
You were not yourself
I saw it in your eyes
I strong man left broken
Each day you’d wake up
It’s time to die
You taught him, I followed
You loved him
You loved me
I left you
Each day you’d wake up
It’s time to die
You waited for me
You held on for me
I made your pain last longer
You were still him
Still the same
For the sake of me
As I closed the door
I looked back one last time
You didn’t see me
I said goodbye
Each day you’d wake up
It’s time to die
This time you listened
I wasn’t there
You waited for me to leave
I did what you wanted
I said goodbye
Then you died
In dreams of joyous splendor
You came to me
Happy and young
You said two words to me
Wake up.
