Man in a dirty t-shirt sells churros
Cigarettes,
no I.D. required.
Fresh fruit and firearms
crowds swarm through outdoor markets
Pirated music from Mexico
Rusted, antique artifacts
Stolen merchandise
available
at discount prices.
Immigrants
gather around the food stands
speaking in foreign tongue
Images of the virgin mary
A sea of cowboy hats.
Unwashed bodies
too close together.
Velvet painting of Elvis.
The aroma -
roasted peanuts in brown paper
bags
Cash only.
Illegal Medication.
