In Concrete wilderness

I witness savages

Hungry savages

Dressed in tribal warpaint

Hunting through streets and

gutters lined with filth.

Howling

Through dark addiction

seeking escape

as poverty stricken

youth.

Violent savages

warriors dancing in blood rain

sacrificing to

Envious Gods

At graveside

weeping

Dressed in black

the Savages mourn

Brother

Sister

Father

Feeding the machine

As feasting cannibals

gnaw the bones

of the civilized.

Leaving brutal legacy

As testimony of

Savage Lifestyle.

Following the pulse

of breathing cities

the corner medicine man

Selling cures

to diseased high heeled

pavement walkers.

Posted under

Orange Light.

Wandering Savages

Sleeping boxcar nomads

call the Thunderbird

mad dogs

in perfect vision

Disciples

Spreading hobo wisdom

to

the road

And as I sit

Staring at cold

reflection.

Black eyes glare

in Mirror Image.

I witness the Savages

Hungry, Violent Savages

Lost

To the Hinterland.
