I am a thinking Thing

Unconfused with Thing One nor Thing Two

And like many other Things, I have a brain

Yet, from where flew and how grew the mind that makes me Me and you You?

And sometimes my mind goes foul

Down dark paths, the phantom voices are loud

I can't keep them out

It drives me to shout,

"Please, just go away!"

As others look upon me with such pity

For I speak to no one seen out loud.

Dreams wrack me while awake

I can't tell if this is real or fake

Whos and Cats in the Hat are all about, can't you see?

But you can't see; I'm so sick internally

In that place you cannot see.

And the doctors cannot peer within

To see what's wrong in the most unknown parts of me.

I am a thinking Thing, indeed

The part of me that is brain and mind works so mysteriously

An ethereal connection we may never see.

So, please don't mind me

Don't mind me

As I gaze upon eternity.
