I had this dream... a bad dream. I knew it was a dream, too. I was sitting in the corner of my bedroom at my writing desk and from the opening above the rooms French doors, I could hear voices calling my name. They were nearing me, and grew louder. I said and yelled, “No. No!” And very soon, when the voices were loud enough for me to cover my ears, I was screaming at the top of my lungs. “NO! Don't please!”
I woke up, shaking violently and almost yelling in my sleep. It was a deathly chill; I couldn't stop twitching. As quick as a whip, I fell back to sleep, but the dream recurred. The only difference was I was in my bed rather than at my writing desk.
When I woke, I shivered and turned the light on, but it still took about ten minutes to get back to sleep. I've never in my life been afraid to go to sleep. But at least the dream never returned.
It was what I imagine to be true horror.
