The leaves were changing colors. I was sitting on the front porch in a rocking chair listening to them whisper as the wind blew. I had to pull my dark red sweater more tightly around because its always cooler in the mornings. Screech went some tires. “Evelyn,” a motherly voice called “the school bus’ here.”
