I stared it right into the eyes. My fear. The only thing that could destroy me came true. I lost her, my mom, my best friend in the whole world. My reason for everything I say and do. She was gone and she was never coming back. I held resentment for God for days. The only thing I had prayed for was for him not to take her away and he did it anyway, but then I realized he had also answered another prayer. He took the burden of being a caregiver away from me. I didn’t ask him to, but he knew it was too much for all of us, and God always knows best. Right?

As a 16 year old, you’re supposed to be out making friends and making memories, but I was home taking care of my wonderful, amazing, and smart mother. I wouldn’t change a thing. I would go through all that pain again if it meant that I could make sure my mother had the care she needed. I gave everything up for her, and I would do it all again in a heartbeat. I don’t regret a single thing. I did the best I could and so did she. We both know that.

I’m not writing this because I want attention. I’m writing because its how I deal with my emotions sometimes. I don’t care who reads this, hell I might not even publish this anywhere, but at least I can say that I fully accept my mother being gone and I’m learning how to deal with it every single day of my life.

To my mother, I love and miss you every single day. I know you’re watching over me and I will do my very best to make you proud. I wish we had more time. I wish we could make more memories, but we cant and that’s okay. I will see you soon. I love you.
